I demanded that she would find me in the clearing outside and she accepted instantly, without objections.

Her and me…

If the rest saw her attack me, they would kill her on the spot without a doubt, but it was a fight I had to pursue on my own.

One of the guards pointed me in her direction. She stood defiant in the pouring rain, holding a wooden club and from that moment onwards, it became impossible to take my eyes off her.

As I approached her, my grasp tightened around the club in my hand. Taunting her, I gave her the green light to kick off our brawl.

I had fought many fights, but this was the first time in my life, I was facing a female opponent.

I was so enraged, I craved to thrash her within an inch of her own life. The source of my rage was emerging from the fact that deep down I knew she was an equal opponent and my ego could not bear that.

Our clash was like a war dance, performed by our bodies under the rumbling thunder, to the sound of our wooden weapons colliding and our jerking breath. I gave her a few devastating blows that made her fall to the soaked ground, but her strength and perseverance regenerated her, making her get back on her feet.

I wanted to find out what was hiding under her rage, and what it was that made her so devastatingly lethal.

The fresh blood on my fingers caught my attention and, blinded by frenzy, I made the deadly mistake to lose my focus.

One of her blows was enough to throw me to the ground and then I found the tip of her club aiming at my face.

For the first time in years, I allowed myself to lose control of my feelings and embrace defeat.

She was getting ready to finish me off when I whispered her name. Not because I was begging her to let me live. The opposite, I would say. I wanted to draw her out of the suffocating darkness that surrounded her and let her act with clear lucidity.

When her weapon reached the ground, sliding out of her hand, I impulsively pulled her close to me and that's when I knew that this dance would not end there. It would be infinite, and the longer it advanced, our steps would get rougher and rougher.

“Two souls bounded through their blood-stained past. Seeking the purpose of life through revenge and wrong decisions. To kill or to love? Walking into a crimson circle over and over again, just to find that love is the only way to escape from it. Killian and Valentin. Their journey is about to start and it’s definitely not an easy one.“
